Project Nourish distributes meals throughout San Diego to those without access to nutritious food: children, seniors, and the unsheltered.
Where does your donation go?
Your contributions will help fund the resources, equipment, and produce needed to distribute food to communities in San Diego. This will also provide more opportunties to those who are currently going through culinary and hospitality training.
About
When people have a troubled past, or complex life circumstances, they’re often labeled “unemployable.” As a result, they feel stuck—powerless to escape a life of poverty.
Kitchens for Good believes that all food has power and that all people have potential. They equip individuals with culinary and hospitality training, as well as the life skills they need to launch meaningful careers so they can move forward in life and make a positive impact on their communities. Not only do apprentices gain valuable training, they contribute to bettering their community by fighting food waste and hunger. Apprentices prepare thousands of healthy meals for hungry San Diegans, using surplus and cosmetically imperfect produce from wholesalers and farmers.
Project Nourish distributes prepared, scratch-made meals throughout San Diego. In partnership with local food assistance organizations, their meals serve people without access to affordable, nutritious food: children, seniors, and the unsheltered. This initiative engages students, many of whom encountered hunger themselves, in a daily opportunity to give back during their culinary training.
